Abstract

Several different forms of biofeedback therapy have been used in attempts to produce or assist in producing bodily relaxation. The three types of procedures employ electromyographic feedback, alpha EEG feedback, and heart rate feedback. The biofeedback-assisted relaxation procedures have been used with a wide variety of clinical disorders, including anxiety, insomnia, and alcoholism and drug addiction.
