Abstract

The first decade of biofeedback research and practice has ended. During this period there has been an enormous growth in the field. Studies of biofeedback as a research technique have appeared in the major journals in fields ranging from psychology through physiology and medicine to dentistry. Two professional societies, the Biofeedback Society of America and the Society of Biofeedback Clinicians, have been formed, and a specialized journal for the field, Biofeedback and Self-Regulation, has come into being.
