Abstract
The object of many of the reports presented at this Workshop has been the understanding of the structure underlying the observed properties of nuclei in various states characterized by their excitation energy, their angular momentum, parity and electromagnetic moments. Adding to these importantly are the interlevel transitions, particularly those proceeding via the electromagnetic interaction. These studies have formed a primary research area of nuclear physics.
