Structure-Activity Relationships of Some New Growth Retardants

Abstract

The first growth retarding substance was discovered approximately thirty years ago by Mitchell et al. (1949). Since then much work has been done on the effects of growth retarding chemicals on the growth and developmental processes of plants. Methods for applying retardants have also been developed and studies have been made on the mode of action of these growth regulators.
