Fabrication of Silver Halide Fibers by Extrusion

  • Chapter
Fiber Optics

Abstract

Silver halide fibers of 3 to 18 mil diameters were fabricated by extrusion. Losses of 6db/m and transmission from visible to 20 pm wavelength were obtained for AgCl fibers. Transmission extends to 25 μm for AgBr fibers.
