Lutropin Induced Desensitization of Rat Ovarian Adenylate Cyclase: A GTP-Dependent Process

Abstract

Dr. Hunzicker-Dunn has pointed out that desensitization of pig ovarian adenylate cyclase (AC) requires — in addition to high LH concentrations — the presence of ATP. ATP could not be replaced by its non-phosphorylating analogue App(NH)p or by GTP (cf. Bockaert et al. 1). We would like to present evidence that desensitization of ovarian AC is also dependent on the presence of GTP.
