Molecular and Conformational Equilibria Studied by Electron Spin Resonance Spectroscopy

Abstract

The discovery of aliphatic semidiones by my group in the early 1960’s came from several separate investigations. We were one of the first groups of organic chemists to apply electron spin resonance spectroscopy to studies of organic reactions. One of our initial lines of research involved the study of electronic comproportionation reactions, such as that shown in equation 1.2
