The Versatile Alkenylalanes and Alkenylboranes

  • George Zweifel

Abstract

The discoveries that alkenylalanes1 and alkenylboranes2 of predictable stereochemistry can be directly synthesized via the monohydroalumination and monohydroboration, respectively, of alkynes have opened a number of exciting new frontiers for chemical research. Of special importance have been the studies directed toward the utilization of these organometallics as intermediates in organic Synthesis. These efforts have resulted in the development of many new synthetic procedures of interest to the organic chemist.
