Abstract

This paper summarizes our Raman scattering measurements of borate and borosilicate glasses. These measurements form a part of a more extended investigation into the structure of these glasses. It comprised Raman scattering (1–8 inclusive), infrared absorption (1), spectroscopic calculations (9), viscosity (1, 10), thermal expansion (1, 11), electrical conduction (1, 12), and density and refractive index measurements (1, 13).
