The Commensurate-Incommensurate Phase Transition

Recent theoretical work has led to the prediction of large spatial variation in the order parameter in an incommensurate phase when a commensurate phase is nearby. The application of pressure is an ideal variable to map out the phase diagram for the commensurate-incommensurate transition.
