The Role of Pressure in the Study of the Fermi Surface

Abstract

Pressure studies of the Fermi surface are providing critical tests for the physical significance of model descriptions for the electron structure of metals. Work since the most recent reviews is cited. The solid and fluid He pressure techniques used in ongoing studies on Gd, U and Th are described briefly and results on these materials are discussed.
