Neoplastic Invasion and Metastasis within the Lymphoreticular System
The common human cancers spread initially by lymphatic metastasis, but there are few accurate models of this phenomenon and no understanding of the way in which tumor cells invade lymphatic vessels. This report describes a defined and quantified model of lymphatic metastasis, an investigation of the lymph node reactions in this model and an analysis of the mechanism of invasion of lymphatic vessels. This material has been published in full elsewhere (1,3,4,5,9) or will be published (2). Reference should be made to these publications for full technical details and account of literature.
