The RES and the Mononuclear Phagocyte System

Part of the Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology book series (AEMB, volume 73)

Abstract

This paper is a discussion of the Reticuloendothelial System (RES) (1) and the Mononuclear Phagocyte System (MPS) (7) in an attempt to assess the relative meaning and merits of the two terms. It is a review and quite unoriginal. It is selective, subjective, opinionated and biassed.
