Preservation of ATP in the Perfused Liver

Abstract

In recent years we investigated anaerobic glycolysis in isolated perfused rat livers. For these experiments we used the perfusion model described by Kessler (2) and Lang (3). After a short initial ischemia associated with preparation of the organ we perfused the liver with an O2-saturated medium for 30 min, then for one hour with a N2-saturated medium.
