With increasing incidence of clinical gout the treatment of acute gouty arthritis has gained much interest especially because Colchicine is getting to the background more and more at least in Europe. Undoubtedly the treatment of acute gouty arthritis with Colchicine is effective. However, usually the clinical effect is associated with toxic reactions from the gastrointestinal tract, sometimes occurring before the clinical effect.
