Algogenic Activity of Human Plasma Following Muscular Work
In a series of research conducted to interpret the physiopathologic mechanisms associated with the onset of pain in muscles that had been subjected to a determined type and intensity of work, it had been noticed that the intradermic injection of “pre-active” plasma after stress, unlike plasma from the same subject at rest, determines recurrent pain, secondary hyperalgesia, and itch (1). The 12 minute “activate plasma*” drawn after a period of stress trial determines recurrent pain of higher intensity and longer duration, a wider secondary hyperalgesia, and itch.
