Resistance of the New-Born to Injury

Abstract

Many experimental models of injury have as their acute effect a loss of fluid from the circulation (Milliean, 1960; Stoner, 1969). This fluid loss will be compensated, at least partially, by the movement of fluid into the circulation from the extravascular fluid compartments in the uninjured parts of the body (Tabor, Rosenthal & Millican, 1951).
