Direct Observation of Magnetic Order in “Ferromagnetic Superconductors” By Means of the 57Fe Mössbauer Effect

We have used the Mössbauer effect (ME) of 57Fe as a dilute impurity probe to observe the presence of magnetic spin order in materials that are also superconducting.1 These measurements provide the first direct evidence for spontaneous spin order below Tc, the superconducting transltion temperature.
