Correlation and Isotope Effects for Cation Diffusion in Simple Oxides

A review is given on the studies of correlation and isotopic mass effects for cation diffusion in simple oxides. The discussion includes (1) the mechanisms for cation self-diffusion in metal-deficient oxides NiO, CoO, and Fe1-xO, and (2) the effect of small solute additions on solute and solvent diffusion in NiO.
