Summary
Therapeutic effectiveness and tolerability of nifurpipone, a new nitrofuran derivative, were evaluated in urinary tract acute infections.
Efficacy was assessed by recording body temperature, subjective symptoms and urine culture.
Nifurpipone in capsules proved to be as effective as nitrofurantoin-- but in gastro-resistant tablets was better tolerated particularly at gastric level.
