Clinical, Bacteriological, and Pharmacological Study of Bacampicillin in Chronic Maxillary Sinsusitis

  • Chapter
Penicillins and Cephalosporins

Part of the book series: Chemotherapy ((CT,volume 5))

Abstract

This is a preliminary report of a study which is going on. As high peak serum concentrations are considered to be of importance for the distribution of penicillin into sinussecretion and sinusmucosa (Lundberg & Malmborg 1974) and thus clinical response in the treatment of sinusitis it was of interest to investigate if dose/re-response relationships regarding therapeutic efficacy and tolerance exist with bacampicillin in treatment of acute sinusitis. Furthermore a pharmacological study of absorption of bacampicillin was performed.
