Part of the Chemotherapy book series (CT, volume 5)

Carbenicillin is a semisinthetic penicillin known as a powerful agent against gram negative microorganisms such as Proteus vulgaris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Thus we decided to examine its effect in treating chronic middle and external ear infections, as well as oral, pharyngeal and laryngeal mucosa infections following irradiation therapy of malignant tumors of oral cavity, pharynx and larynx. The investigation was carried out in the Clinic of Otorhynolaryngology and Cervicofacial Surgery of the University Hospital “Dr. M. Stojanović.”
