Summary

Within two years, 150 female patients suffering from chronically recurrent fluor were treated, in whom mycoplasmas could be demonstrated as a possible cause for the fluor. The patients were treated as follows: 50 patients vaginally (5 days 200 mg of chlorotetracycline-hydrochloride); 50 patients orally (10 days 4 × 250 mg of tetracycline-HCl, daily); and 50 patients orally plus vaginally. Control examinations — 8 days and 4 weeks, respectively, after cessation of therapy — had the following results: 7 recidivations after vaginal therapy, one recidivation after oral treatment and no recidivation following the combined therapy.
