Total Emissivity of Some Surfaces at 77°K

Abstract

An all metal cryostat, similar in principle to a glass apparatus described by Blaickman, Egerton and Truter1, has been used to measure the radiation transfer between a standard surface at 0°C and various test surfaces held at 77°K. The surfaces chosen for study were surfaces often encountered in laboratory practice rather than optimum quality surfaces.
