Carbon Dioxide in Low Temperature Testing

Abstract

The refrigerating effect per pound of dry ice sublimated, at atmospheric pressure, is approximately 246 BTU per pound. The best transfer efficiency into a fluid which we have been able to measure to date is 57.3 percent over a temperature range of +65° to -106°F.
