Plasma Corticosterone Levels during Active Avoidance Learning in Rats with Septal Lesions

One of the characteristics of rats with lesions in the septal area is a marked enhancement of 2-way avoidance learning (6,8). Amongst the various hypotheses which have been advanced to account for this finding are: loss of inhibitory responses (9), reduced freezing (12) and decreased fear (8).
