Abstract

Like all living organisms, each of us exhibits marked variations in activity throughout the 24-hour period. In humans these are manifestly mental as well as physical. At the levels of vigilance, perception, motoricity, physiology, biochemistry and probably even in structure, we therefore are different individuals at different times (Luce, 1970). It follows that excessive consistency cannot be demanded.
