Sintering of Cobalt-Molybdenum Oxide Films on Alumina Supports

Abstract

The changes in the surface area during the heat treatment of cobalt-molybdenum oxide films on alumina supports have been related to two processes, surface diffusion occurring below 1073K and volume diffusion occurring above this temperature. The activation energy below 1073K is 35 kcal mole−1 (1.46 × 105 joules mole−1) and above this temperature is 85 kcal mole−1 (3.55 × 105 joules mole−1).
