Collision Studies with Ion Storage Techniques

Abstract

Ion trap technology has been with us for over a decade now, and has provided us with a powerful tool for atomic physics advances. Dehmeltl has reviewed the mechanics of traps and their applications in the rf spectroscopy of ions. Significant contributions have been made2–4 since these reviews -- particularly in electron spectroscopy -- and reported current work5 is exciting indeed.
