Atomic g-Factors of Hydrogen-Like F19

Abstract

We have used a unique method to directly measure both the atomic g-factor of the ground state of hydrogen-like F19 ions and part of the energy dependence of the charge state equilibrium. In this experiment, we precess the ion in an applied magnetic field for a fixed period of time and then use the anisotropic angular distribution of nuclear gamma rays to detect the precession.
