On the Theory of the Direct Four-Fermion Interaction

Abstract

The solution of a coupled system of integral equations for the direct four-fermion interaction theory is obtained in the d=2+ε dimension space. It exists only for the SU(2) symmetric interaction and for the positive coupling constant G. It is scale invariant and corresponds to a stable fixed point of Gell-Mann — Low equations.

The real four dimensional case d=4 is considered. Here the same solution with a small change in the indices is shown to be approximately valid and all integrals in the equations are found to be convergent. The solution so obtained allows one to estimate the so-called “nonparquet” terms omitted in the set of equations. They are found to be numerically small.

A general iteration procedure with an obtained solution as a zero order approximation is suggested.
