Pesticides in Aquatic Environments an Overview

I would like to add my welcoming remarks to those of Dr. Khan. A glance at the program we are now beginning indicates that we will be privileged to hear from leaders in the area of research on pesticides in the aquatic environment. I was asked to deliver the keynote speech for the symposium and, as I understand it, my purpose is to present a general review of the symposium topic and to introduce the subjects that the speakers will address in more detail as the symposium progresses. Also, I hope to challenge those present to consider certain research issues relating to the program. I will attempt to accomplish these objectives in as few minutes as possible in order to give the speakers the maximum amount of time for their subjects.
