Abstract

The pulses which we have underlaid my first lecture have been supposed to be ideal in a number of respects:

    pulsewidth tw = → 0,

     
  2. (2)

    flipangle β ≡ γB1tw = π/2 (exactly!)

     
  3. (3)

    exact quadrature rf-phases,

     
  4. (4)

    no phase transients,

     
  5. (5)

    no timing errors.
