Quantitative Mutagenesis in Soybean Suspension Culture

Abstract

Soybean suspension cultures were grown in side-arm flasks and shaken on a rotary shaker at 28°C. Growth rate was conveniently measured with a Klett Summerson photometer by determining the turbidity through the side-arm. Within a given range, the turbidity of the cell suspension was directly proportional to the culture density determined by direct cell counting.
