Superconducting Properties of LaSnxIn3 − x

Abstract

The electronic properties of the pseudobinary compound LaSn x In3− x and several related compounds are known to vary in an oscillatory manner with composition x.1 There is considerable experimental evidence that the variation is due primarily to changes in the electron/atom ratio. We have measured transition temperature T c , density of states at the Fermi surface N (0), Debye energy ΘD and hardness, in an attempt to understand superconductivity in this system.
