Determination of the Gyromagnetic Ratio of the Proton γP’
We report a new value for the low field gyromagnetic ratio of the proton, γ p ’ . Since AMCO-4, when we last gave a value of γ p ’ , we have developed some new techniques [2,3,4] which are primarily responsible for the present reduced uncertainty. Although some further refinements in the experiment are still expected, we feel that the present improved value should be reported because of its impact on the adjusted values of the constants, especially on the fine structure constant [5,6].
