Experiment with Magnetically Isolated Calculable Solenoid for γp Determination

Abstract

In the determination of the proton gyromagnetic ratio yp in a low magnetic field, there are two conditions required. The first is the precise determination of the magnetic field by calculation from the known current which passes through a solenoid. Here, very accurate information is necessary for the dimension of the solenoid, such as diameter, pitch and so on. With this condition fulfilled, the system should be placed in nonmagnetic environment. This second condition means that no unpredictable magnetic field is permissible at the sample position.
