The experimental study of nuclei far from stability (exotic nuclei) has been remarkably successful in the past few years as can easily be seen in the rapid data-accumulation of atomic masses, high-energy α- and β-decay half-lives, β-decay strength-functions, delayed-particle emission-rates and spectra, and isotope shifts [1].
