Imagery and Children’s Associative Learning

During the past five years, we have collaborated in a series of research studies concerned with children’s associative memory, or what Piaget and Inhelder (1973) have called “memory in the strict sense.” This paper is a review of that work. In addition, we have included some thoughts about the role of this type of research within the general context of theories of cognition (see also Yuille & Catchpole, in press). 1
