Thermal Decomposition of Alkaline Earth Chromates, Oxalates and Chromate-Oxalate Mixtures. The Ba, Sr, and Mg Compounds

Abstract

Cr(V) and Cr(III), dispersed at the surface of various oxidic materials, play an important role as catalytic species. The present contribution reports a detailed investigation, using a combination of various physical techniques (thermogravimetric analysis, mass spectrometry, e.p.r., ir-spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction),of some methods of preparing and stabilizing such dispersed ions.
