Diminished sexual activity among individuals dependent upon alcohol has been noted by various authors, but no-one has improved on Shakespeare’s observation of the sexual effects of alcohol — “It provokes and unprovokes; it provokes the desire, but it takes away the performance”. (MACBETH Act II Scene III).
