Abstract
I am honored to make a contribution to the work of this distinguished group of scientists. However, because all of you know more about the subject than I, I feel like a cat that has just won the blue ribbon at a dog show. With this thought in mind, let me establish a few ground rules for our discussion. I am a structural engineer, not a scientist, or a mathematician. My field is buildings, and my interest in wind and turbulence is related only to the horizontal load that they impart onto my buildings.
