Present-day scientific writing has been accused of being neutral and noncommital to an extent that has lowered the quality of its information content. It has been argued that writers of reviews, texts, and monographs should be less hesitant to express their personal opinions on issues of scientific endeavor. We find such criticism not to be without justification and so attempt in these final pages a summary of our views on the present status of the field and an outlook toward future work.
