Abstract

Since 1960, four meetings of heads of state of non-aligned countries have taken place. The most recent meeting was in Algiers on 5 to 9 September, 1973, a few months after UNCTAD III and the UN Human Environment Conference in Stockholm and at a time when it was becoming clear that the oil producing countries were about to engage in a process of bargaining over the price of their principle export.
