The Use of the Selgem System in Support of Systematics
SELGEM is a set of computer programs which have been designed to process the data of systematics in a variety of ways. Emphasis has been placed in SELGEM development upon input and manipulation of the data, although a fully operational set of output and reformatting programs is in existence. Under many circumstances the SELGEM system can be used to streamline the process of data collection, reduce or eliminate repetitive work, increase the accuracy of data assembled, permit the output of a greater variety of documents, and allow for more flexible uses of the resulting data base. The system is operational on a number of machines at the present time and is available without charge to any user provided that it is not used for profit.
