The conscious state and the unconscious
In previous chapters an often used but not well defined term has popped up time and again, namely, consciousness, a controversial notion which has not been explored from the biological point of view. It can, nevertheless, not be disregarded when dealing with the energetics of mental processes and with wakefulness.
