The other aspect of cerebral plasticity: the fixing and storing of information
Learning and memory. These two words are regarded as almost synonymous by most people, and not without reason, as will be shown later on. Psychologically and biologically, however, there are considerable differences between the two. The differences will be scrutinized here from the biological aspect. After having described the phenomena of learning in the preceding chapter, we now wish to discuss some current problems of the fixing of memory traces.
