Abstract

Tumors of the central nervous system, especially those occurring intracranially, are among the most common neoplasms in infancy and childhood. At the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, brain tumors represent about 2.5% of all admissions to the neurosurgical division or approximately 50 cases a year.
