Abstract

By measuring the temperature dependence of tunnel pair accumulation efficiency and the spectra of tunnel luminescence (TL), the nature of centers constituting tunnel pairs and electronic transitions involved in TL were studied. Regularities of the spatial distribution of the centers were deduced from TL decay measurements. From F-center tunnel decay kinetics, the effective tunnel recombination distance between F- and VK-centers in KCl was estimated.
