Cascade Emission of Two Photons Induced by the Interaction of an Electron-Hole Pair with an Impurity Center in Alkali Halides
Two processes are discussed which allow one to observe the multiplication of photons in the framework of linear optics. It is shown that the interaction of each electron-hole pair with an impurity ion or some crystal defect may be accompanied by the emission of two photons with different energies.
